Bamboo is a popular material for kitchen tools and implements such as cutting boards and dish drainers. This is because bamboo is naturally antibacterial. However, bacteria or mold will eventually grow on bamboo surfaces. Prevent this by cleaning bamboo dish drainers often to remove mold and soap scum. Use methods that will clean the bamboo without damaging it.
Step 1
Fill the sink with hot water.
Step 2
Add 2 tsp. liquid dish soap and mix until all of the water is soapy and sudsy.
Step 3
Put the dish drainer in the sink and scrub it with the soapy water until the entire drainer looks clean.
Step 4
Rinse the dish drainer with clear water.
Step 5
Fill a spray bottle with 1 cup of water and 3 tbsp. white vinegar.
Step 6
Spray the solution over the dish drainer and let it sit for 10 minutes.
Step 7
Wipe the drainer with a paper towel and let it air dry.
