Your security code
When you own a home security system like ADT, you'll want to know all your options. By pressing just a few buttons, you can change your settings without the help of an ADT agent. The Simon ADT alarm gives users the option of using voice command or turning the option off. Changing your alarm settings is quick and easy.
Step 1
Locate the main alarm system's touch pad. You cannot use your remote touch-pad or your key chain touch-pad for this process.
Step 2
Open the control panel cover. The panel will announce, "Use numbered keys to enter security code."
Step 3
Enter your security code using the numbered keypad. The panel will now announce, "Please select from start menu."
Step 4
Press "Delete" from the start menu. The panel will announce, "Select from main menu."
Step 5
Press "Option Number." The panel will say, "Option 1, press again for next option or done to select." Press again to go to Option 2.
Step 6
Press "Done" when the panel announces "Option 2." The option number for voice command is option 2. Once you press "Done," the panel should say, "Option 2 deleted."
Tip
Panel voice can not be deactivated for status messages, open sensor responses and when the system is in program mode. This is a security feature built into the system for your protection. Control other options by following these same directions. The options you can change are: (01) Panel Beeps, (02) Panel Voice, (03) Latchkey Time, (36) Sensor Activated Light, (37) Sensor Activated Light, (41) Chime Voice, (42) Speaker Volume, (43) Pager Phone Number and (55) Status Beep Volume.
