How To Remove The Front Of A Frigidaire Room Air Conditioner
Frigidaire air conditioners are single-room air conditioners that can be mounted in a wall or in a window. The front of the Frigidaire air conditioner unit has a panel that houses the evaporator. Behind the evaporator are the cooling coils that cool the air the air conditioner sucks in. The front plate of the Frigidaire air conditioner can be removed for access to the coils if needed.
Step 1
Locate the evaporator on your Frigidaire air conditioner. It is the large slatted cover on the front of the air conditioner.
Step 2
Locate the handle on the side of the evaporator panel. It should be on the right side of the Frigidaire air conditioner.
Step 3
Pull on the latch and the front of the Frigidaire air conditioner will open downwards. Pull the evaporator's door off of the hinges by lifting upwards.
