Stripping wallpaper is a time-consuming job. Make the job easier with the right tools and an easy stripping solution. Be patient and meticulous; you'll be rewarded with a beautiful bare wall.
Step 1
Use the scraper to remove as much loose wallpaper as you can, especially if it is coming off in large sheets.
Step 2
In the spray bottle, mix one part liquid fabric softener to three parts hot water. For example, fill an 8-ounce spray bottle with 6 ounces of water and 2 ounces of fabric softener.
Step 3
Lightly spray the mixture onto a section of wallpaper. Let it soak for 10 minutes to allow the wallpaper glue to soften.
Step 4
Remove the wallpaper in that section with the scraper. If it is not coming off easily, score the wallpaper with the scraper, spray it again and continue removing.
Step 5
Continue spraying and scraping sections of the wallpaper until it is entirely removed.
