How To Remove An Emtek Lockset
Removing an Emtek lock set from a door is a job that can be completed in just a few minutes. A lockset doorknob uses a special clip on the inside of the door shank to secure the doorknob assembly rather than securing it with screws. Emtek specializes in making quality door and cabinet hardware and has a full line of locksets. You can remove the Emtek lockset yourself, saving you the time and money of having someone else do the work for you.
Step 1
Locate the slot in the side of the Emtek lockset door shank and depress the button on the inside of the slot with a small screwdriver.
Step 2
Take the doorknob off the latch assembly and remove the mounting plate by hand.
Step 3
Remove the latch assembly and doorknob from the opposite side of the door, sliding it out by hand.
Step 4
Unfasten the door jamb plate with a small screwdriver and slide the Emtek lockset door latch out of the door by hand.
