A Beverly Hills Address Gets A Sophisticated Overhaul Fit For Three Young Boys
A lot can change in five years. But for one L.A.-based couple — the recent clients of Studio Life.Style founder Shannon Wollack and her design partner, Brittany Zwickl — the last half-decade brought rather significant shifts. Since purchasing their traditional Beverly Hills home, they added three young boys to their family and evolved their design sensibilities toward a more airy, sophisticated look.
The goal for the renovation, then, was to "update it with a younger, more modern feel" to reflect the pair's current style preferences, "but without moving too far away from its traditional design," Wollack said. They overhauled the shadowy rooms with crisp, white paint, and then used a neutral palette to give the open layout a sunny, only-in-California aesthetic.
Throughout the project, Wollack and Zwickl also rigorously checked that all of the new furnishings were parent-approved. "With three little boys running around the house, all of the furniture was very carefully picked," Wollack recalled. "We made sure there were no exposed sharp edges." The hope was that the family would continue to change, but for the foreseeable future, their address would stay the same.
