These 9 Small Kitchen Products Are Genius Stocking Stuffers
For many, stocking stuffers provide more excitement than presents found under the tree. What's not to love about cute, compact gifts? And if they're kitchen related? Some might call that a Christmas miracle. We wanted to share simple yet genius kitchen products that any home chef would appreciate. Some of these we can personally attest for, while others are recent suggestions by those in the know. (Looking at you, Ina Garten.)
1. OXO Good Grips Egg Slicer, $9.99
Some members of the Hunker team recently said they don't own an egg slicer, and they even wondered if people actually used them. Others (like me) wondered, who doesn't use an egg slicer? (I use mine several times a week. I didn't think it was even an option to not have one.) We love this because OXO makes dependable products that last.
2. Food52 Five Two Paring Knife, $49
Our commerce editor, Katie, loves this paring knife from Food52. She tries out a lot of products, so we trust her on this. A paring knife in the kitchen is a must — you'll wonder how you lived without one once you start using. These come in a variety of lovely colors.
3. Kuhn Rikon Straight Peeler, $5
Another smart suggestion from Katie is this vegetable peeler. She said that her mom and sister claim that it's the "best peeler" they both have ever used. And for $5? You can't lose on this one.
4. Crate & Barrel Taylor Oven Thermometer, $8.96
In a recent tour of Ina Garten's kitchen, she said an oven thermometer was one of her kitchen essentials, so need we say more?
5. Le Saunier De Camargue Fleur De Sel, $8.79
Another item that Garten swears by is salt, which makes for a lovely stocking stuffer. We spied this Fleur de Sel on her shelf, in addition to one of my perennial personal faves, Maldon salt. Many people won't splurge on nice salt, so this is a sweet gift.
6. Browne 60-Minute Long Ring Timer, $13.78
Goodness, we're seeing a pattern here: We also spotted these kitchen timers on Garten's shelf. If you're fed up with using your phone as your alarm while you cook, get yourself a trusty old-fashioned timer and keep your phone clean. We love how her pick is functional and not too fancy. Just like Mom's.
7. Sawyer Ceramics French Ceramic Butter Keeper, $50
I can attest to this butter keeper — it is amazing. Keeps butter soft and ready to spread. It's an everyday treat. Really, a perfect little stocking stuffer.
8. Tovolo Sphere Ice Molds (Set of 2), $9.99
Each mold makes one cute, round ice cube. It'll make your cocktails feel so swanky.
9. OXO Good Grips Citrus Squeezer, $16.99
These are just so handy in the kitchen, for squeezing lemons and limes. No issue with seeds getting into your food or drinks. Fresh juice in your margaritas and mojitos is a must, don't you think?
